TECHNICAL ADVISORY SERVICE
PFL have always been proud to offer an unrivalled technical advisory service. Our test department has a range of machines from hand operated to 8 ton stamping machines, to evaluate customers' materials and recommend the most suitable foils and accessories. For assistance and advice, please forward materials to Dale Collins or telephone 01268 288955 for advice.
After testing materials, sample rolls of suitable foils will be sent to you to test on your own equipment.

DIES AND ACCESSORIES
Metal Dies are used for stamping flat, contoured or cylindrical parts. There are four main materials with varying degrees of hardness to allow a match of die type with the production volume and substrate hardness.
MAGNESIUM AND COPPER DIES
- Photo etched direct from artwork - fast turn-round.
- Flat only.
- Available in various gauges.
- Can be deep etched & close routed if required.
- Copper, harder than magnesium for longer runs or on plastics.
- Can be used for embossing dies.
BRASS AND STEEL
- Engraved.
- Heat Treating provides maximum hardness for longer runs.
- Used in Plastics industry due to hard wearing.
- Can be contoured to fit curved parts.
RUBBER DIES Supplied for stamping plastic mouldings, where the surface can be uneven with 'sinks' and a degree of 'give' is required.
Available in various shore hardness' and thickness' to suit individual applications.
Dual Durometer dies are supplied for the most demanding applications, where a soft rubber backing allows enough 'give' to reach into the 'sinks' and a hard rubber surface ensures perfect print clarity.
Rubber Sheet is used for tipping raised plastic mouldings. Available in various hardness' and rubber & metal thickness'.
Type is manufactured to order in Brass or Steel to suit all applications. Available in 'Type High' or any special body sizes and shapes to suit any make of machine. Mazak alloy type is also available.

PHILBOND - Die bonding adhesive. The original heat activated adhesive, used to adhere dies to the head of the machine.- Rolls 75mm x 10m, 25m, or 55m.
DIEKLEAN STICKS - Glass fibre stick, ideal for polishing and cleaning dies and type. FIXAJIG - Linen based double sided adhesive for holding down jigs and lays. Supplied in rolls 45mm x 50m.
Bed Materials
PRESSPAHN BOARD - Resilient base particularly effective for soft materials and paper. Thick Presspahn 305 x 279 x 1mm. Thin Presspahn, suitable for Heidelberg platens and cylinders Sheets 356 x 508 x 0.38mm Also available in rolls, please enquire.
SUPERPRESS - Glass bead letterpress blanket, most popular for cylinder users. Its high strength means it can be used over and over for different jobs. Excellent for long runs
LABLAY - A self adhesive printers blanket particularly suitable for label printing. Sheets 457 x 305 x 0.86mm.
RUBBERISED CORK - A self-adhesive material for use mainly in the plastics industry to allow 'give' under rigid materials.
EMBOSSING CEMENT - A DIY paste for embossing counter forces.
